just the way we painted scenes of places
never seen to be the sun drenched forever of our dreams
the history of exploration is in the DNA
of every earthy child pushing to the front
of the line just to be the first arrived
caring nothing about the discovery of new all around them
the history of merchandising was science
defined in reverse by having the truth
pasted everywhere before hypothesizing
that everyone will agree once everything is everywhere
the history of history is singing to itself
on a slow shuttle back to the mainland
holding all the stories books will brag about
even if every sound that survives is a forgotten name or date
