Memento Mori by LindaAnn LoSchiavo

I felt it sweeping past. The corridor
Mysteriously darkened, poised between
A sighting and uncertainty, a ghost
Seeking attention while avoiding it.

Black quietude of death – – flirtatious, sly,
Uncanny, threaded through the night – – then gone.
