The weight of emptiness is what he seeks.
His spectral figure transports souls within
Death’s silhouette, aware they’ll want release —
Though making these decisions can evince
Odd preferences cloaked by Mister Grim.
Detecting movement clouding the blank stare
Of my dead neighbor’s window, I take care
To hide behind Venetian blinds and pause.
Shrouded by an ethereal affair —
Hunched shadowplay — emerges restless jaws.
